Overview

The CAEN Mod. N93B is a one unit NIM module housing two identical triggered pulse generators.
The module produces NIM and ECL pulses whose width ranges from 50 ns to 10 s when triggered. Output pulses are provided normal and complementary.
Timers can be re-triggered with the pulse end marker signal.

The coarse adjustment of the output width is provided via a 10-position rotary switch, the fine adjustment can be performed via a rotary handle.
The trigger START can be provided either via an external signal or manually via a front panel switch.

Technical Specifications

Packaging

1-unit wide NIM module.

START signal

2, NIM and ECL, leading edge sensitive. Minimum FWHM 5 ns

VETO signal

1, NIM input. disables the START input (within ±2 ns of START leading edge)

RESET signal

1, NIM signal. Minimum FWHM: 15 ns

Outputs

Two normal independent, one complementary NIM level and one ECL

Output width

50 ns to 10 s in 9 decade steps, with a potentiometer and locking dial for fine adjustment

Dead time

Shorter than the cycle time. The timer can be triggered well before the end of the timing cycle

Rise/fall time

< 2 ns

I/O delay

Delay from Start to leading edge of output, or from Reset to trailing edge, is approx. 13 ns

End marker

NIM and ECL output, 15 ns FWHM output pulse leading edge is coincident with the trailing edge of outputs within 2 ns
