Company Overview and Role Description
The successful candidate will provide expert-level knowledge of products and applications to key accounts, delivering clear and accurate technical documentation to both customers and internal teams.
The Application Scientist will be responsible for the characterization and validation of readout electronics for experimental physics applications, including the design and execution of laboratory setups with detectors to evaluate system performance and data quality. The role involves measurements, calibrations, and performance studies.
As part of this role, the candidate will contribute to ensuring the quality of final products and will communicate customer feedback and application-driven insights to the R&D Chief Manager. The position reports directly to the Senior Marketing Manager, and the selected candidate will receive structured training to effectively carry out all required responsibilities.
Contract & Benefits
Contract Type: Full-time, on-site work at Viareggio
Contractual level: CCNL Metalmeccanico 2021 – Level C3 or above, depending on experience

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge of products and applications to key accounts, with the goal of providing consultative scientific support
- Assist the regional sales team in the development of accounts to provide customers with the scientific and product support necessary to accelerate the sales process, increase success rates of product evaluation and provide continued post-sale technical support
- Availability to travel to work in the field, attending meetings with key customers, helping with the evaluation of CAEN products and presenting scientific seminars
- Respond to technical inquiries from customers received by phone and e-mail
- Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
- Produce technical documentation, including Application Notes, presentation, guides and user manuals.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or Phd in Physics or Nuclear Engineering
- Excellent personal task management skills and a high level of self-motivation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in Italian (written and spoken)
- Excellent in English language (written and spoken)
- Ability to:
- Work effectively in a group development environment
- Problem-solve effectively
- Persistently drive projects to successful completion
- Available to international travels
Preferential requirements
- Knowledge of Gamma and/or X ray Spectroscopy.
- Experience in physics experiments.
- Experience in integrating electronic instrumentation for physics.
- Knowledge of programming languages, C, C++, LabView, Python, Java.
