The Model V767 is a 1-unit wide VME 6U module which houses 128 independent time-to-digital conversion channels. The module hosts 4 deadtimeless TDC chips developed at CERN by the ECP-MIC Group.
The module is a General Purpose, 20 bit dynamic range TDC and allows COMMON START operations with typical bin size of 0.8 ns LSB. The unit features double hit resolution of 10 ns and sensitivity to both leading and trailing edges.
The module is programmed via an on-board microcontroller by using a set of high-level symbolic commands, so enhancing the friendliness of the unit and its flexibility to match a large variety of experimental conditions (Trigger Matching, Continuous Storage and COMMON STOP emulation). A 32 kwords local memory buffer completes the flexibility of the board.
The unit has a standard A24/A32 VME interface. The internal registers are available in D16 mode only, while the data buffer is available in D16, D32, BLT32 or MBLT64. Moreover, the unit supports the Chained Block Transfer and the Multicast commands.
